2 super stars in Iran joins new project

New Iran flick ‘Subtraction’ has recruited a pair of acting powerhouses Navid Mohammadzadeh and Taraneh Alidousti.

The two Iranian stars will be on the cast list, a media report said Wednesday, adding the flick is at the pre-production stage.

Mohammadzadeh has mainly acted in movies, starring in limited TV productions such as the series 'A Share for a Friend' by Masoud Atyabi  (2012) and the Telefilm 'Our Story, Your Story' by Reza Beheshti (2012).  

Some of his cinematic works have been Mohammad Shirvani 's 'Fat Shaker' (2012), '13' (2013) and 'The Sound of the Fury' (2015) by Houman Seyyedi (2015) and 'Life + 1 Day' (2015) by Saeed Roustayi (2015).

The actor has received several awards and nominations including Best Actor award from 2015 Bratislava International Film Festival.

In 2017, he grabbed the Best Actor award for starring in 'No Date, No Signature' directed by Vahid Jalilvand.

Crystal-Simorgh-winning Iranian actress Taraneh Alidousti studied music at high school. 

Later she participated in Amin Tarokh acting classes and made her cinematic debut with ‘I'm Taraneh, 15’ in 2000, for which she won the Crystal Simorgh for the best actress at the 20th Fajr Film Festival. 

She has starred in many movies including ‘The Beautiful City’ (2004), ‘Fireworks Wednesday’ (2006), ‘Canaan’ (2008), ‘Doubt’ (2009), ‘About Elly’ (2009), ‘Whatever God Wants’ (2010), ‘Life With Closed Eyes’ (2011), ‘At the End of 8th Street’ (2011), ‘The Shallow Yellow Sky’ (2013), ‘Absolute Rest’ (2015) and ‘The Salesman’ (2016) for which she found global fame. 

New Iran flick ‘Subtraction’ featuring Mohammadzadeh and Alidousti is directed by Mani Haghigh whose recent work ‘Pig’ was internationally noted.
